7. Practice mindfulnessWhen people say pain is all in your mind, they may be on to something. Nikki Harman, known as The Mindful Nurse, teaches patients techniques that change pain perception.
"Within four to five days of practicing them, most people do find pain reduces," she explains. Try this exercise:
